Having imaginations of whatever this and that Happens, and following each bit of instruction given by those in charge and familiar with wilderness. The snowcapped mountain Kilimanjaro is located in the Republic of Tanzania and Masai Mara in Kenya. The trip starts from Kilimanjaro and ends in Nairobi Kenya.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Mount. Kilimanjaro to Moshi

Upon safely landing at Kilimanjaro international airport, our company driver will meet and greet you; briefing about different activities and destination. After a glass of juice, you will pack the hiking equipment and transfer to your lodge so as to get ready for the next day hike. You will arrive, have check-in and settle in, wait for dinner and a peaceful sleep.

Day 2: Nale Moro Rongai to Rongai one – 2,600m

After breakfast, you will start the day with a heavy breakfast meal at the lodge, and off you go to Moru Rongai trail circuit for briefing and registration. The ranger guides will be able to explain what the hike takes. First level is a bit simple and with your support poll you will walk passed the plantations, moorland zoon, and homesteads.

Lunch will be during the hike, and you will hit the 2600m altitude, at the Rongai one campsite. Arrive and enjoy the stunning view of the landscape, Kenyan plains and beautiful landscape. End this day with dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Proceed from Rongai one to Kikelewa campsite – 3600m

At day break, you will proceed with the drive from Rongai one to Kikelewa campsite at a level of 3600m campsite. The day your eyes will be fed with the beautiful sight of the eastern ice fields at the crater rim and Kibo.

Lunch is done and will be a walk passed the cave, seating at a 3,450m altitude, with moorland to Kikelewa campsite. You will arrive in the evening for camping, dinner and overnight after a six hour walk.

Day 4: Transfer from Kikelewa campsite to Mawenzi tarn – 4,330 m

Wakeup fresh and start a new challenge. At time the temperature has changed, and you are what you are familiar with. You face the steep terrain, in the 3-4 hour hike, to Mawenzi tarn campsite, situated at the foot of Mawenzi valley. You will arrive at the campsite quite early, so as to have enough rest for the days ahead are more demanding. Temperature has changed, and you must have embraced to it. Call it a day with dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Mawenzi tarn to Kibo campsite – 4,700m

After breakfast, there will be a journey started through the stellar desert of saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. Below it is a crater wall, and the view of other mountain summits. The 6-7 hour hike sees you through to Kibo campsite at an altitude of 4700m. You will spend the evening relaxing with an experience of a change of temperature. The day ends with dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer from Kibo campsite – 4,700m to Horombo hut – 3,720m (11-14 hours’ hike)

In the 1st hour of the day; at about 01:00 hrs, you will have your breakfast, and start your hike to the summit. The purpose of waking up this early is so as to meet with the sunset and before the snow starts to melt.

It is one of the most challenging hikes, but with the help of torch lights, and African moon if there is; you will walk through the volcanic path to reach Gilman’s point at the crater rim. You will spend some time resting, before connecting to the snowcapped Uhuru summit; the world’s tallest stand-alone mountain. When you reach the summit, enjoy the photo moments, and then descend for lunch and dinner at Horombo hut. It is a day for 10-12 hours’ hike.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu gate

Start your day with a mouthwatering breakfast meal at the camp, and then descend passed the moorland zone and Mandara hut. Our company representative will be waiting for you at Marangu gate for you successful hike, and certification. The transfer will be to your hotel for refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Spend the day in Arusha, Tanzania

After breakfast, spend this day resting from the day’s long hike. There will be a city tour around Arusha Tanzania, spending time on photography, visiting the historical, and cultural sites. If you love night life, take time and spend the first hours of the night relaxing in the city bars sharing happy moment with the natives of the place.
End the day with dinner and overnight, and each meal planned served in time.

Day 9: Fly to Masai Mara, Kenya

Wakeup for a relaxed breakfast, and then hit the skies to Kenya. Upon landing, you will meet and greet our company representative who will explain what Kenya has to offer. After briefing and lunch time, you will head to the lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10 & 11: Full day game drives

You will be leaving your lodge by 08:00 hrs after breakfast, and then return at about 19:00 hours at sunset when the eyes have seen animals, birds, reptiles, primates and cats. Lunch will be in the wilderness, as the camera and binoculars will be put in use. You will also have time at the Mara river, watching hippos and crocodiles.

There is no guarantee as to what will come your way, though; the lions, leopards, Impalas, wildebeest, gazelles, wild dogs, hyenas, cheetahs, baboons, vultures, cranes, ostriches, wildebeests, and zebras are present. Masai Mara reserve is an extension of the vast Serengeti national park in Tanzania. It has one of the largest concentration of lions. Dinner and night stay marks the end of this day.

Day 12: Whole day cultural experience

After breakfast, you will start your day with a lip-smacking breakfast meal. Thereafter, the day will be spent uncovering rural life in the community of the Masai Warriors. The Masai people are renowned herdsmen who believe on cattle, and depend on it for wealth. They take visitors to their kraals, manyattas and grazing ground, and entertain through songs, jumping dance, and stories.
It is from this that you uncover the beauty of Africa and uniqueness in their outfit. You should share a meal with them and thereafter retire in the evening with dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Departure

Kick start your day with delicious breakfast at the lodge, and then checkout for a transfer to Nairobi for your flight. End of Mara & Kilimanjaro Hiking Safari.
