The Masai is diverse and rich eco system that must be preserved for the next generations to come and this can only be done by taking proper measures on conservation. The reserve authorities have set some rules and regulations for visitors to follow in order to maintain wildlife and their habitat at the same time giving people a true wilderness experience.

Masai Mara Park Regulations
Just like any other protected areas in Africa, Masai Mara national reserve also has rules and regulations to be followed while in the park. Some of the park rules and regulations can be see n below.
Do not throw trash or litter around the park, you should keep all your rubbish within the car and take it outside the park or at designated dustbins at the lodges.
The park gates open at 6:00 am in the morning and close at 7:00 pm for day game drives. Ensure to get in the park before 7:00pm if you’re sleeping in one of the lodges in the park and also exit at before the same time if you’re sleeping outside the park.
Do not talk loudly, sound the horn, play loud music or make unnecessary noises while watching wildlife. Calling animals is not allowed.
You are only allowed to drive off track while sighting the big five. But still keep a distance of at least 25 meters. After. Going off track without a confirmed sighting will lead to paying a fine.
Do not feed or get involved in any activity with animals. If they show resistance and want to move away from the area or busy hunting. Don’t pursue the animal just let nature do its course.
Except at designated viewing points and if you’re at picnic sites. Make sure you’re 25 meters from the vehicle. Make sure you check around to ensure no wild animals are around.
During the great wildebeest migration, avoid blocking river crossings and also don’t drive through herds of wildebeests. Always slow down and allow the animals to cross.
